Caramel Pourable Glaze
Caramel Glaze
For the caramel
1/4 cup cream and 2 additional tablespoons
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Combine cream and salt in small bowl and set aside. [Do NOT turn on burner yet] Rub melted butter all over a saucepan. Mix water and corn syrup into the saucepan, then pour the sugar into the center. Mix well so that the sugar absorbs all the liquid.
2. Cook on a medium heat without stirring, until sugar is completely dissolved, about 3 to 5 -minutes. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally until the sugar mixture turns to a golden color, around 5 minutes more. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully add the cream. ** It will bubble and splatter. **
Stir until cream is thoroughly mix and then add the butter and vanilla.
