Shortcut Pie Crust Cookies



As a child.. Do you remember that left over pie crust that your mom would cinnamon and sugar and bake right up! Well here's a quick retake on Pie Crust to Quick Cut Out Cookie form.

Supplies

    1 roll refrigerator pie dough
    1 tablespoon melted butter
    ¾ teaspoon almond extract
    decorative sugar sprinkles
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat baking mat.

2. Roll pie dough into a ball and roll out to ¼ thickness.

3. Cut dough with cookie cutters and place on the prepared baking sheet. 

4.Add almond extract to melted butter and brush dough with butter. 

5. Optional - Top generously with decorative sugars and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes.

Candy Filled Pie Kisses.

DIRECTIONS: Use a 3-inch cookie cutter to cut rounds out of the pie crust.
Place a piece of candy on each round of dough and draw up the sides to form corners that meet at the top
